As a playwright, I’m interested in making theatre you can feel with your whole body. I’m inspired by music videos, children's movies, consumerism, 1960s sitcoms, dance, and Grimm fairytales, and the result is highly theatrical writing that navigates the ugliest parts of adulthood with youthful joy and tenderness. My work has been produced across Dallas by House Party Theatre, Imprint Theatreworks, and Sundown Collaborative Theatre and in a variety of venues including bars, warehouses, theaters, and the Dallas Museum of Art. I was a finalist for the 2020 Echo National Young Playwrights in Residence program, Semi-Finalist for the 2021 UCROSS/Blank Theatre Future of Playwriting Prize, and recipient of the 2017 SMU Rosenfield Playwriting Award. My newest play, THIS IS A MORTALITY PLAY SET IN AN OFFICE DEPOT was featured as one of three plays in Urbanite Theater’s 2021 Modern Works Festival.
A sample of my work, including my newest full-length play THIS IS A MORTALITY PLAY SET IN AN OFFICE DEPOT is available on my New Play Exchange profile

THIS IS A MORTALITY PLAY SET IN AN OFFICE DEPOT
(Full-length) Parallel universes are real and in all of them Office Depots exist and that makes Tina want to die.

(One Act) The sky has turned orange, and it's probably the end of the world, but a married couple sits comfortably on their front porch talking about the weather, carrying on as usual. MR. has a mysterious box his wife can't touch. MRS. is reading the subtext of the newspaper. It's all a little unsettling. What is bravery, and how do we express love, in the face of (probable) doom? Run time approximately 20 minutes.

(Full-length) JP, 6, is scared. Samantha Louise, 8, writes stories that are “inappropriate.” The same could be said of teachers Miss Charlene and Mr. Boris making out at lunch, Samantha Louise’s always-gone Mother, or JP’s Dad, scaring his son with talk of taxes and disease. Nothing's working, but everyone’s trying their best; maybe there’s love in there somewhere.
